Shaiya Player Guide - get started

Logging In
To login to Shaiya, you will need to use your Aeria Games account. If you have not registered for a free account, you can do so any any time here.
The first time you login you will have to choose between the Alliance of Light (Humans & Elves) or the Union of Fury (Vails & Deatheaters)
Creating Your First Character
When creating your character, you will need to select the Name, Class, Sex, Job (a.k.a profession for the character), and appearance for your character. You will now also have to choose the Mode for your gameplay experience. The modes are as followed:
· Easy - This mode should only be played by those who have no experience playing MMORPGs. Level cap is 30, experience gain is 2x, and no special skills are available.
· Normal - This mode is for players who have some experiences with MMORPGs. Players must reach level 40 in Normal mode before Hard mode will be made available.
· Hard - Level requirements are much harder in this mode, but Status and Skill Bonuses are increased. Players who reach level 40 in Hard mode will unlock Ultimate mode.
· Ultimate - Level requirements are the same as in Hard mode, but Status and Skill bonuses are increased and players can use exclusive items, skills, spells, and bonuses only available to Ultimate characters. WARNING!!! Characters who die in Ultimate mode will be deleted if not resurrected within 3 minutes. This mode is only for those players looking for the Ultimate experience.

Pressing the Arrow button will reorient the Hotkey Bar from Vertical to Horizontal.
5. Character Name: Player’s Character Name. Identity Code or Rank may appear at the sides of the name while in a Party or in PVP mode.
6. Radar [shortcut V]: Indicates Enemy Locations, NPCs, Quests and Quest Rewards. Clicking on the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ will zoom in and out. Clicking on the parchment paper (Shortcut M) will bring up the Mini Map of the entire realm.
7. Function Buttons (From left to right): Shop, Status, Inventory, Assistant Skill, Quest, Community, Options.
8. Shop: This is where players can spend Aeria Points to enhance their gameplay experience.
Map
To bring up your map press the ‘M’ key on your keyboard or press the parchment button on the radar.
1. The yellow icons on your map are NPC quests. Go to these points and speak with the NPC who has an icon floating above their head
2. These are portal gates. There are many of these on every map, but important ones will always be marked on the map.
3. The blue icons are NPCs you need to visit after you’ve met all of the requirements for your quest. These NPCs will give you your reward!
Quests (Obtaining and Completing)
1. All available quests are shown on the Mini Map as yellow orbs.
2. NPCs offering quests at these locations will have a glowing symbol over their head.
3. Double Clicking on these NPCs will bring up the option to Trade or Talk to the NPC. Select Talk to learn about any Quests offered.
4. Selecting Talk will bring up the NPC’s quest window. Here you will learn tales of the lands you are adventuring in, and you will be given the opportunity to perform tasks for fabulous rewards and experience! If you like the sound of the Quest offered click on the Accept button. If you do not want to take the offered quests, click the Cancel button.
5. After selecting a quest you can review it and any other accepted quests by pressing the Shortcut Key ‘U’. This will bring up the Quests window. Here all active quests will be listed in Green, and quests that have all requirements fulfilled will be listed in Yellow.
6. Once you have fulfilled all of a quest’s requirements, look for the Blue orb on your mini-map. This will usually be the NPC who first gave you the quest, and now they are awaiting your return so they may give you a reward for your efforts.
Movement in Shaiya
Movement within the world of Shaiya is very simple. To move your character to a location you have two options.
Option 1: Point and Click method. Simply click on a location you wish your character to run to and they will. Hold down the right mouse button to look around the world. You can also do this using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Option 2: Shaiya also supports ‘W’ ‘A’ ‘S’ ‘D’ movement as well. Pressing ‘W’ will move your character forward, ‘S’ will move them backward, ‘A’ will turn your character to the left, ‘D’ will turn your character to the right, ‘Q’ will make your character strafe left, and ‘E’ will make your character strafe right.
*** Double tapping W will make your character run forward until you stop them by pressing a key again *** Double tapping ‘Q’, ‘S’, or ‘E’ will make your character leap through the air in an acrobatic display *** The Space Bar makes your character jump. *** If you ever get stuck or want to be instantly transported to the nearest City, simply type /return into your chat window and press Enter.
Hunting and fighting in Shaiya
When an enemy is on the screen you can attack them by placing your mouse cursor over them. When the cursor turns into a sword you can click on them once to target them. You can now either cast a spell or use a skill to attack your enemy, or simply click on them again to perform your normal attack.
Chatting in Shaiya
Pressing ‘Enter’ at any time will open up the chat box in Shaiya. Here you can type in any text and have it displayed in game so you can communicate with other players.
If you do not wish to broadcast your chat publicly, there are also other options for chatting. These can be accessed from the drop down menu to the left of the chat box.
· Normal - Regular chat that broadcasts to any players within listening distance.
· Whisper - This is a direct chat to another player. You will have to enter the player’s character name and then the message you would like to send.
· Party - This message will only be heard by members of your party.
· Guild - This message will only be heard by members of your guild.
· Trades - This is used when you would like to broadcast messages concerning the buying, selling or trading of items. *Note: Until you reach level 11, you will not be able to talk on Trades chat.

Lineage 2 - Clan System-Clan Management

Creating a ClanAny character over level 10 may create a clan. When a character has reached level 10 or higher, he/she can go to the NPC responsible for clan creation. Clan names may be comprised of up to 16 alphabetical and numerical characters and cannot include spaces or special characters. A clan is made up of a clan leader (commonly known as an Heir or wiseman depending on the lvl of the clan) and a number of clan members. New clans may accept up to 10 members. As the clan progresses and attains new levels, they can have up to 140 members. Leaving a ClanA clan member may leave a clan, but they will suffer penalties as a result (24 hours before able to join a new clan). If a player wants to leave a clan, they can go into the Clan Window, click on the Actions > Clan tab and click the "Leave" button. When a member leaves a clan, he/she may not join any other clan for one calendar day, but can create a new clan immediately. The clan leader suffers no penalty and can accept new members immediately. If a clan leader wants to kick a player from their clan, they can go into the Clan Window, click on the Actions > Clan tab, select the name of the player and click the "Dismiss" button. A member that is dismissed from the clan must wait one calendar day to join another clan, but can create a new clan immediately. When a member is dismissed from a clan, the clan penalised and must wait one calendar day to accept new members. When a Clan Leader leaves the clan is automatically dissolved and receives a penalty (see below).Dissolving a ClanA clan leader may dissolve the clan without the prior consent of the members. Dissolving a clan is done in the same manner as creating a clan, through the appropriate NPCs. It takes seven calendar days to dissolve a clan. Clan skills are restricted until the dissolution occurs, but clan chat and clan bulletin boards may still be used. A clan cannot be dissolved when involved in a clan war. Members who leave the clan during those seven days will still be unable to join any other clan for one calendar day, but once the clan is dissolved the members who remained can join other clans immediately. A clan leader who dissolves his/her clan receives experience penalties comparable to one death and cannot create a new clan for another ten days. In addition, all the skills and fame that the clan possesses will be lost. Clan Leadership TransferA clan leader may transfer their rights to other clan members. The leader must request the clan leader transfer from an NPC who is in charge of clan activities. The new clan leader will assume their new role during the next regularly scheduled maintenance time. (The clan leader transfer should still be completed even when the server is down unexpectedly.) A clan leader transfer may be cancelled anytime prior to the regular maintenance time.

DAOC Player Guide

Starting a new character in DAoC has never been easier with all these new expansions. It is much easier to level a pet friendly class with a heal over time bot than to level any other character. For midgard you would use a spiritmaster specced into summoning, for hibernia you can use an enchanter and for albion a necromancer. These pets are able to take down much more mobs than the average toon. With a heal over time bot or a buff bot they can take down 5-10 mobs at once. Keep in mind it is much faster if you leveled a power level bot and a buff bot then level your main rvr toons after.
With a buffed summoning pet you can take down 5-10 yellow con buff mobs with a few heals or heal overtime. If you're pet is master level 9 you can take down even more. I have done about 30-40 yellow con mobs with a heal over time. The ideal place is level at is passage of conflict or task dungeons. I prefer Passage of conflict because of the respec stones that drops along with decent rog loot. Passage of conflict also gives out much higher experience points than the average zones and task dungeons.
You can make about 10 plat leveling a new character from 1-50. If respec stones drop, you can probably sell them for 1 to 2 extra plats. I usually get about 5 from leveling a character 1 to 50. I normally stop power leveling at level 47 in which you are then able to get the free level to 48. After getting to level 48 I prefer to quest for the rest of the experience. From 48 you can do the necklace quest in which you should be able to get 48 and a half. After hitting 48.5 you can do the commander quests in your capital cities. That should be able to get you to 49.5 and it only takes about 1 hour to complete them all.
From 49.5 I would start joining raids for master levels or artifact credits. You can even start rvring as well. Getting to 50 should be easy considering you have so many other stuff that you can do. Personally I would just go out to rvr, collect bounty points and buy whatever credit I need, which are usually master level credits & artifact credits. Keep in mind, it takes about 60 hours of play time to get to 50, but for a pet summoning class it would take maybe 24 hours. Having an additional class such as a summoning class can help with farming plat and items. Good luck and enjoy.

2 Moons Dil Guide - Starting 2moons Read This!

Is This Game Right For You?

Overview The Basics

2moons is an American adaptation of the Korean MMO-RPG Dekaron. It is currently now in open beta. Recommended for 17+ due to language, blood content, and violence.

The Good Whats better than the generic MMO-RPGs

-Fresh Story

-Nice Artwork

- Good Graphics

-Great combat animations

-Not too Repetitive (grind>lvlup>buynewweapon>repeat)

-6 Classes

-Loads of quest for all levels

-More Dungeons

-Fishing!

-NPCs have voices (with original/funny lines)

The Bad Game Issues

-Beta (with known glitches and errors)

-Lag Moments (happens often in town)

-No UI configuration (moving/changing bar options)

-Poor Bosses

-Medium Skill Trees

Summarized Story

During the event of the two moon alignment, the Exile King Rictus and his magicians opened a gate to let the Pitborns and their leader Abbadon into the land. King Rictus thought he could control them but they were too powerful. They took over the land with little opposition. Then came Trieste, the savious, who banded with the six warriors/magicians and fought Abbadon and his forces. Their combined might failed to stop him and so Trieste sacrificed herself to close the gates of the two moons. The seal lasted for centuries it wore off. The Pitborns along with their ruler Abbadon are free to conquer the land. This is where you come in.

Casual Gaming

This game goes well with casual gamers as it's quests and dungeons aren't too long nor too hard. Playing from time to time keeps this game fresh. Generic friend and party system makes this game user-friendly and easy to pick up. The game isn't all about grinding to level up so you don't have to spend hours killing the same monsters over and over again.

Serious Gaming

Also good for serious gamers, this game has an awesome battle feature known as "siege battle" where 3+ guilds duke it out in large battles for control of the land! The pvp system can be a bit vicious as entering any dungeon allows you to attack anyone. There are "instances" every twenty levels as well as dungeons for parties. The game has a lot of quests which isn't only limited to collecting items or grinding a certain monster.

Getting Started

Websites

Official Website:
http://2moons.acclaim.com/index.htm

Supporting Website: http://www.dekaron.com/

Download: http://2moons.acclaim.com/downloads/game.htm

-pick fileshack for shorter lines and up to a 300kb/s transfer rate

Picking a Server:

Your account works on both servers but any characters made in one server will not be available in the other server. Creating a character on Trieste allows me to use that character on all Trieste servers but you will not find the same character on an Abbadon server. Trieste is usually more packed but has more players to interact with. Abbadon is smaller with only 3 sub-servers but should be less crowded which should get less lag.

Trieste: Kalibus, Asray, Blades, Oread, Horsea, Augur

Abbadon: Soulbane, Heartrender, Lifecrusher

Picking a Class

Azure Knight: With the choice of many melee weapons and physical improving skills, this knight is an overall melee contender.

Segita Hunter: Using a bow or crossbow or even a dagger, the hunter can attack from afar with powerful skills or up close with fast hard hitting attacks.

Incar Magician: The mage in the game with access to magic and three other elemental types of spells, she is a magical powerhouse.

Segnale: This is the healer in the game with great offensive capabilities. She comes with buffs, healing spells, curses, and great melee skills.

Bagi Warrior: Following in the old ways of martial arts, this warrior weilds metal knuckles and can unleash a barrage of fist and fury.

Vicious Summoner: Specializing in poison, you can either equip a dual sword or a staff that enhances magical damage. You can train pets as early as level 15.

Braiken or Loa

It doesn't matter except for the layout. I suggest Loa if you're fresh but then Braiken just seems cooler just because it feels more like a castle. Now you are free to start in the world of 2moons.

Villains - Circle of Thorns

Villains - Circle of Thorns

In the 1890’s, upper class England found itself amid a tremendous upsurge of interest in the occult. Most of these dilettantes were more interested in the carnal aspects of ritual magic than in any kind of true arcane knowledge. There were, however, a few exceptions…among them the Baron Zoria. The charismatic Zoria came to England in 1890, allegedly from Russia, and quickly developed a reputation as a fanatic, outré, and decidedly unpleasant figure. Despite (or perhaps because of) this reputation, the Baron managed to acquire a small circle of devotees.

Zoria’s burgeoning cult focused most of its energies on searching for signs of the long lost city of Oranbega. Although most people believe the mythic city was “invented” by Girolamo da Verrazano in his 1529 map of his brother’s explorations, Zoria believed the ancient underground city to be a real place. Apparently he was right. Moreover, he was more right than he ever imagined in his wildest dreams. Zoria claimed that Oranbega had sunk beneath the earth tens of thousands of years ago during a war between the Sorcerer Kings of Oranbega and the Warlords of Mu. Zoria felt that if he could unlock the key to entering this lost city, untold powers would be his to control.

Rather than mounting archeological expeditions or combing through dusty archives, Zoria chose a more direct approach. He set about contacting the spirits of the dead Oranbegan Sorcerer Kings. Apparently he was successful, for in a ceremony on the winter’s solstice of 1898, the Circle of Thorns was born. Zoria and each of his followers took a strange thorn, given to Zoria by the Oranbegan spirits. They simultaneously drove the bizarre spines into their chests, sinking them straight into their own hearts. The wounds closed as quickly as they had opened, sealing the enchanted thorns deep in their bodies and imbuing each with unique magical powers beyond anything they had ever possessed.

For the next year, the cult reveled in its newfound power. They indulged every whim and quickly established themselves at the top of Europe’s secretive mystic underground. Dozens, then hundreds flocked to them, desirous of tapping into the same energies that they seemed to have mastered. Their meteoric rise drew scorn and derision from other, more established groups like the Golden Dawn and O.T.O. Aliester Crowley himself decried them as charlatans and fools. It also attracted the attention of Christian and secular groups that feared the magicians’ negative influence over the good and decent folk of Europe. Several nations passed laws banning the Circle from practicing its beliefs within their borders.

Zoria and his followers seemed largely unconcerned. They were already planning their next move. In 1914, as war broke out on the continent, the Circle of Thorns left en masse for the United States. Varrazano’s original map had located an entrance to Oranbega on the east coast of North America. Although later copies of the map showed the city in New England, Zoria believed this to be a deception. His own communion with the spirits pinpointed the location as being beneath the burgeoning metropolis that we know today as Paragon City.

Throughout the next six years the Circle of Thorns disappeared from view. Many in Europe thought that some no doubt well-deserved occult disaster had befallen them. In fact, Zoria and his core membership were busy searching for a physical entrance to Oranbega. To hear them tell it, they were successful. All of a sudden, the Circle re-emerged, this time with a decidedly public face. They formed a private but well-known gentlemen’s club that became one the most notorious speakeasies of the Prohibition era.

The Roaring ‘20’s were a golden time for the Circle of Thorns. The hedonists of the Jazz Age embraced Zoria’s dark and dangerous reputation and the Circle went on a barely concealed black magic spree. They performed human sacrifices, summoned demons, and magically manipulated events with impunity. Their mystical divinations prepared them for the coming Great Depression and the Circle and its members lived out hard economic times in relative luxury. What they didn’t divine was the rise of the masked crime fighter in American society.

In 1933, when children from poor neighborhoods started disappearing from their homes in the middle of the night, police and heroes alike were entirely baffled. There were no signs of forced entry, no clues at all. It wasn’t until the new hero known as The Dream Doctor started on the case that the true nature of the Circle of Thorns became public knowledge. A master of sorcery himself, the Dream Doctor recognized the hand of black magic in the kidnappings and traced the mystic trail back to the private club used by the Circle for its meetings.

At midnight on the anniversary of the Circle’s founding, The Dream Doctor burst in upon the foul cultists just as they prepared to sacrifice the poor children. As preternatural night engulfed the ritual chamber, the hero moved among them, his mystic blasts and spirit allies smashing through the cultists and freeing the children before Baron Zoria and his cronies knew what had happened. While the Circle’s highest-ranking members escaped, The Dream Doctor managed to capture most of the rest of the cult and bring them to justice.

That night in 1933 was the end of the Circle of Thorn’s existence as a public organization. Baron Zoria and his followers literally fled into the underground, allegedly taking up quarters in the dank and dangerous ruins of Oranbega. Their first order of business was taking vengeance upon the man who had ruined them: The Dream Doctor. Knowing full well what would happen to him, the Doctor gathered about him a group of civic-minded magicians, occultists, and scholars to help protect the city against future threats from the Circle of Thorns. He called this group the Midnight Squad, and the organization persists to this day as one of the premiere superhero organizations in Paragon City.

Over the next few decades, the Circle of Thorns and the Midnight Squad continued to skirmish back and forth. Unfortunately, since only the Circle knew how to enter the lost city of Oranbega, they always had a safe and secure base to retreat in when matters grew desperate. Try as they might, the Midnight Squad could not crack the mystery of the sunken city. By the 1990’s the Circle of Thorns seemed to have dwindled to a mere shadow of its former might. Except for the occasional museum theft or kidnapped antiquarian, the villains seldom seemed to rise from their chthonic chambers.

What no one could have expected is that it would be an alien invasion that both opened the way to Oranbega and simultaneously reinvigorated the Circle of Thorns. During the Rikti War, the extra-dimensional attackers used the subway tunnels and other underground chambers as bases of operation. They excavated more rooms as they needed them, using a variation on their portal technology. Apparently, the magical runes and protection spells hiding Oranbega from the rest of the world had no effect on technology from another dimension. The Rikti had accidentally discovered the vast underground lair of the Circle of Thorns.

Although most of the city’s heroes are loathe to admit it, this unintended revelation may well have played a key roll in turning the tide of the Rikti War. The Circle, long dormant, was not nearly as dead as many had imagined. The aliens found themselves not only fighting super powered heroes on the surface, but magic wielding, demon summoning fanatics down below. The now quite aged Baron Zoria himself led the charge at the head of his elite Thorn Wielders against the aliens, pushing them out of Oranbega and the surrounding caves.

No paper ever reported the Circle of Thorns’ role, nor did any of the hero organizations acknowledge the existence of Oranbega. Indeed, few of them knew for certain what exactly had happened to the Rikti underground. Nevertheless, after the war, rumors told of ancient, gold encrusted ruins beneath the streets of Paragon City. Fortune hunters, amateur archeologists, and even some heroes went down into the depths in search of fame and fortune. As might be predicted, none of them returned. At least, none of them returned as they were when they went down.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. With their impenetrable magic cloak destroyed by the Rikti, the Circle of Thorns knew it was only a matter of time before the Midnight Squad or some other noisome hero group would get curious and start causing trouble. And so Baron Zoria and his followers decided to take a more proactive approach in their own defense. They began with those initial explorers, capturing the trespassers and then supplanting their souls with the long-dead spirits of the original Oranbegans. When folks learned better than to go looking in dark caves for lost cities, the Circle of Thorns began to more actively “recruit” new members. They sent expeditions to the surface to snatch more innocents for Oranbegan supplantation. In the meantime…they sought new -- if less effective -- ways, to hide their secret city from interlopers.

Today the Circle of Thorns has swelled in membership because of their press gang practices. Now, for the first time in decades, Baron Zoria’s ambition seems to be stirring. With the city in such a chaotic state, the Midnight Squad believes that The Circle is preparing to make a play for real power in the surface world. Robe-clad cult members have been seen on the surface in several locations. Strange new social clubs and cults have popped up in many neighborhoods, espousing beliefs very similar to those of the Circle, and many of these have turned overnight from simple spiritual movements to murderous cabals. Now the Midnight Squad is busy trying to put a stop to this burgeoning occult threat, but the more problems they encounter in Paragon City, the harder it is to find time to search out entrances to lost Oranbega. Which is, no doubt, just as Baron Zoria intends…

Quickstart Guide - Your First Day as a Hero

Quickstart Guide - Your First Day as a Hero

Your First Day as a Hero

When you have finished creating your character, you may begin adventuring in Paragon City. We strongly recommend you start with the tutorial provided in the game. Not only will this show you the basics of movement, navigation, combat and dealing with non-player characters (NPCs), but when you complete the tutorial you will have enough experience to progress to second level.
Remember, in the tutorial don’t just rely on the text messages from NPCs; you must also pay attention to the reminders automatically placed on your map and the other informational screens.

Statesman's Tip: We recommend you do the tutorial every time you start a new character, even if you’re already an experienced player. It doesn’t take long, and it’s a good way to pick up your first level of experience.

When you complete the tutorial, you will be asked if you prefer to start the game in Atlas Park, or in Galaxy City. Both zones are equally well suited to beginning players. Once you’ve selected your starting zone, you’ll be dropped near one of the city’s respected newbie trainers, either Ms. Liberty in Atlas Park, or the Backstreet Brawler in Galaxy City. Report to your trainer to get your training for second level, which will include the selection of one additional power. Your trainer will also give you the name of your first contact (the identity of your first contact is determined by your Origin and by which zone you chose to begin in).

Now you should go and meet your contact. You will find him or her inside the building near the trainer (the Paragon City Hall in Atlas Park, or the Freedom Corps building in Galaxy City). Your contact will offer you a choice of missions to begin your adventuring career.

Now you are ready to begin active crime fighting. You can either patrol the streets looking for the criminal element, or go ahead and tackle your first mission. It’s up to you. Pay attention to your map, which will reveal more and more of the zone as you explore. Be cautious about crossing the yellow or red lines on your map, as these mark off more dangerous areas of the zone.

Statesman's Tip: Don’t bite off more than you can chew. The number of enemies you can take on at one time depends on your Archetype and power choices, but beware of large groups of foes. Look for white or blue enemies to engage, be careful about taking on yellows, and avoid orange or higher. You do have one thing going for you, though; for your first five levels, you don’t accrue any XP debt if you’re defeated, you’re just taken to the hospital and healed.
